Day 1:
Swakopmund. Depart either from Swakopmund or fitted in at day 4 of the itinerary
Namibia’s North. Drive on to Palmwag Lodge, which is located in a concession area, where
elephants roam freely and often march through the lodge area. Overnight on a dinner, bed
and breakfast basis at Palmwag Lodge.
Day 2:
Palmwag. Today you continue into the Kaokoveld. Drive via Sesfontein towards
Purros, where the Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is located just a 5 km drive away from Purros.
This lodge offers unexpected luxury in their small stone huts. You may want to join the
activities offered at the lodge – which are included in the price: The tour leads to the
Hoarusib River bed and also to a traditional Himba Village. Overnight on a full board basis at
Okahirongo Elephant Lodge.
Day 3:
Purros. A full day at leisure: Enjoy the comforts at the Lodge and enjoy more
activities offered. Overnight on a full board basis at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge.
Day 4:
Purros. You continue with your self-drive adventure – and if you have rented a 4x4
vehicle you can drive the long road via Orupembe and Kaoko Otavi to Opuwo. (Please check
before hand how the road conditions are) Overnight at Opuwo Country Lodge on a bed and
breakfast basis.
Day 5:
Opuwo. Travel further northwards to Epupa Falls. After driving through the arid
area of the Kaokoveld, the Epupa Falls offer a refreshing destination. The Kunene river is one
of the permanent flowing rivers in the country and represents the border between Angola
and Namibia. Overnight on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at the Epupa Falls Lodge.
Day 6:
Epupa Falls. Enjoy a full day at leisure: Participate in the activities offered
(optional and not included in the price) or just relax and enjoy nature! Overnight on a dinner,
bed and breakfast basis at Epupa Falls Lodge.
Day 7:
Epupa Falls. Drive back to Opuwo and further to the western side of the Etosha
National Park, Hobatere Lodge. Overnight on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis at Hobatere
Lodge. (Activities are offered at Hobatere, but not included in the price)
Day 8:
Hobatere. Return the long way to Windhoek or continue with your itinerary of
Namibia’s North towards the Etosha National Park.
